Heather and Jake at the Seattle Tennis Club
Posted by: Maurice in Wedding Photography, tags: wedding pictures at the Seattle Tennis ClubHere are a few wedding pictures at the Seattle Tennis Club from Heather and Jake’s wedding. It was a gorgeous day, and beautiful setting.
The club is located right on Lake Washington, so you have really beautiful sky and water views.
Heather and Jake. Lately I’ve been presenting brides and bridesmaids in color, and guys in BW. It make for a nice contrast. One of the things I love so much about digital photography though, is that you can have a copy of everything in both BW and color. If you later decide you like only BW, or only color, you still have both versions.
Like I said, the weather and light was gorgeous that day. Beautiful and bright. I’ve also realized that I really love shooting on docks. The texture of the wood always looks so cool.
The guys were apparently big fans of Captain Morgan, so we shot their group shot doing the Captain Morgan pose.
The ceremony.
This is the ring bearer. He loves to dance. Too cute huh.
Okay, last shot. I know this was a long post, but thought I would post a lot of pictures since it’s been a few days since my last blog post. Here they are leaving the reception on the way to the car. Sparklers are always fun and look great in pictures.

Not directly about this wedding, but a great NYtimes article about the rise of “wedding Photojournalism”, which you do a fair share of in your photo-sets. This article is specifically about proposal shots, but remarks about its place in the larger trend of shooting less “traditional” photos.

Just think how much you could charge in your wedding packages for that! lol.

Thanks for posting that. That was a cool article. Photographing proposals would be a lot of fun. That’s really the beginning of the wedding, and the emotion you could capture would be amazing.
I’ve always been mainly a fan of the photo journalistic approach with weddings. I think the natural, emotional pictures are the ones that people will value the most down the line. I love taking “cool” and “pretty” posed pictures too, which I think are also important to capture, but if I had to choose one over the other the real moments would be the ones I would want more. Luckily we are able to do both with our style of coverage
