Welcome to MauricePhoto.com. We photograph pretty much everything people do, including wedding photography, portrait photography, high school senior portraits, family portraits, bar mitzvahs, headshots, model portfolios, comp cards, business portraits, and sports photography.
Our approach combines the style of fashion photography with the authenticity of photojournalism. We want to make pictures that are beautiful and fun, while also showing the unique personalities of our subjects. We combine wedding photojournalism with artistic wedding photography creating a unique blend appropriate for each clients needs and tastes.

We have a full service commercial studio located in downtown Seattle for all shoots that require an indoor controlled environment. However, we love shooting portraits on location whenever possible. Shooting in your living room next to a window, in your backyard, or even a park will usually offer a gorgeous setting for portraits, and give your pictures a unique look. Another great thing about location photography, is it enables us to get pictures of you doing something fun in addition to posing. Sometimes called lifestyle portraiture, this is where we might have our subject do a couple quick posed shots, but then also have you interact with each other and your surroundings as if no camera is there. This allows us to capture pictures that show the life and personality of everyone in the pictures.
The "MauricePhoto Booth" is a service we offer for wedding receptions, parties, and coporate events. We set up a studio light + back drop and take portraits of your guests whenever they feel inspired to mug for the camera. This allows people to have fun and pose as they wish, resulting in a series of pictures that perfectly capture the mood of your guests. As one of the official team photographers for the Seattle Seahawks, my work has been featured in many places including the game day programs, the team website, on Qwest Field billboards, and of course on my blog.
One of the first things you'll notice is this isn't written in the third person, and you won't find any big pictures of me plastered all over my website. What makes my work special, is the people in it. Obviously I play an important part in bringing out the best in my subjects, but ultimately what makes my work stand out is when I capture something inherently unique and beautiful within each of my subjects.
I've always been fascinated by people, and making pictures of the beautilful and fun parts of life. People are all so individual and unique, and I love capturing the little things about everyones character and personality that makes them who they are. After studying Journalism while in college at Seattle Pacific University, I developed a passion for visual storytelling and documentary Photography.
In addition to weddings and portraits, I’ve had the opportunity to shoot pictures for a variety of distinguished clients including the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL, the Seattle Mariners, Sports Illustrated for Women, The University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University, and IMG Talent to name a few. I find that shooting a variety of subjects has kept my eye sharp and helps me stay inspired in the different kinds of photography I do.
I also must give a lot of credit to my amazing and talented wife Kristen who assists at most of our wedding and portrait shoots. She is a talented makeup artist, and also has an amazing ability of helping people relax in front of the camera. She also takes great pictures and provides a second camera angle when needed.
