Recent pictures from a wedding at the Golf Club at Newcastle. This is a perfect example of why you should pray for rain on your wedding day 🙂 Those skies! It’s funny, I remember as a young photographer I stressed so much about the weather being just right.  Worrying about all the external things out of my control that would influence pictures. But after many years of doing this you learn how to make the best of all the typical challenges you face as a wedding photographer in Seattle.
Newcastle is always a great venue to shoot at. No matter the weather, you can always get good pictures in at least one spot. The tent of course, looks great for ceremonies, and provides shelter from wind and rain. And the Golf Course always looks great, even under stormy skies with all of that green! When the weather is sunny, and the sky is clear, it’s probably one of the best views around with the lakes and city skylines in the distance.
Another fun part of shooting this wedding was witnessing all of the great Persian Wedding Ceremony Traditions. You can see the beautiful buffet of sweets spread out on the table in front of  the  bride and groom during the ceremony. Persian weddings also feature a sweet, some by say sexy even 😉 tradition of the bride and groom each feeding one another a taste of honey from one of their fingers. This always makes for a great picture!
One of my other favorite shots, that basically illustrates the life and times in which we currently live, is the 3 dudes with their cell phones out shooting pictures. They were totally oblivious to the fact that I was shooting a picture of them as well. People often think they need photographer’s to have second shooters at their weddings. However I’ll let you in on a little secret. There will be about 40 assistant photographers toting cell phones, so not much will be missed 😉
